Ruth Hallihan Set to Retire Saturday
One more shift.
After nearly two decades of working at the convenience store her husband Hugh built, Ruth Hallihan is set to retire this Saturday, March 24.
A long-time staple of Blackville’s Nine Pine, Ruth has built an outstanding reputation of being the heart and soul of the quaint establishment on Main Street – always displaying a friendly smile to greet her customers.
Blackville Mayor Christopher Hennessy agrees, “Ruth always has a smile on her face, no matter the time of day. She is a hard worker and I’m sure Nine Pine’s customers will miss her. On behalf of the village council and myself, we wish her the best and congratulate her on a well-deserved retirement.”
Ruth, who has worked various jobs since the age of fourteen, including twenty five years as a bus driver for Blackville School, plans to spend more time with her family and grandchildren.
If you are in the area on Saturday, take a moment to bid Ruth a fond farewell and express your appreciation for her years of service.
