Blackville Public Health
Public Health Services promote healthy lifestyles and healthy families; provide environmental protection; and prevent, manage and control communicable diseases.
Public Health recognizes that healthy choices are influenced by factors that individuals may have little or no control over, such as housing, transportation, community design, air, food, water and soil quality, social support networks, commercial interests, and much more. These contributing factors to disease, injury and chronic illness can affect some groups of the population more than others and cannot be dealt with by the health care system alone.
Public Health delivers population health promotion strategies in the areas of maternal, childhood and youth health; communicable disease prevention, management and control; immunization; epidemiology and health emergency preparedness and response.
