Hallihan to give talk on Leslie Allen
/Posted on: January 16, 2019/
As part of the Friends of Beaubears Island 2019 speaker series, Wade Hallihan will give a presentation on Leslie Allen on Monday, February 4th at 7pm at Nelson Rural School Library (26 St. Patrick’s Drive in Miramichi).
Hallihan’ s presentation will be based on the story of Leslie Allen: a hunter from Moncton who was lost in the woods near Blackville in 1927. The case was the subject of the poem/folksong “Leslie Allen” written by Michael Whalen – the “poet of Renous”.
The series takes place on Monday and Thursday evenings for the month of February featuring many local speakers/historians covering a wide range of topics relevant to the Miramichi region.
