Celebrate Canada Day Weekend in Blackville!
Celebrate the Canada Day long weekend in the village of Blackville!
On Sunday, June 30, there will be entertainment by Neon Smoke beginning at 8:00pm at the Blackville Municipal Park and will continue after the fireworks display. The Blackville Fire Department will be hosting a BBQ (with curly fries) on site. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
On Monday, July 1, a breakfast will be held at the Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall (St. Raphael’s) from 7:00am until 11:00am. Bacon, eggs, toast, hash browns, tea, coffee and juice will be served. Cost is $4 for children and $7 for adults.
Following the breakfast, Saint Raphael’s CWL will host a Strawberry Social from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at the Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall. Cost is $6 and includes strawberry shortcake and tea.
The Canada Day Parade kicks off at 3:00pm (parade participants are asked to begin lineup at 2:00pm at Hooked N’ Cooked). Please note: four wheelers and dirt bikes are not permitted in the parade unless they are hauling a float. The village also asks that you do not throw candy from your float. If you would like to give out candy or other treats, please walk along the side of your float and pass to children.
Immediately following the parade, everyone is asked to join us at the Blackville Municipal Park for entertainment by Debbie and Eric, as well as games, a jumping castle, bbq, cotton candy and free birthday cake!
Please note, ATV trails will be closed through the park on June 30 from 6 to 11 pm and on July 1 from 2 to 6 pm for Canada Day celebrations.
