Variety Show Fundraiser for Local Dancers
Blackville School students Abby Keenan and Anna Sturgeon of Barnettville have been chosen to represent Canada and compete at the Dance World Cup in Portugal in 2019! Over 6000 dancers and 40 countries are expected to attend the world finals in Europe next summer and these local athletes will be among them.
It is an amazing honour for these girls to be chosen, however they must cover their own expenses. This involves at least a few trips to Toronto to learn choreography and rehearse with their team (travel, accommodations, food, etc.), team fees, costumes, shoes, make-up, travel to Portugal, accommodations there and all living expenses. It is estimated each girl will need $15,000. As excited as their families are for them to have this opportunity, the amount of money required presents a challenge.
A Variety Show fundraiser will be held this Saturday October 6, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. at the CWL Hall in White Rapids. The event is hosted by Johnny Manderville with performances from Craig & Lori Curtis, Jessica Munn, Natalie Coughlan, Tessa Munn, Emma Sturgeon and more! There will be a 50/50 Draw and canteen. Everyone is welcome!
Come enjoy an evening of entertainment and show your support for these two local girls as they prepare for the world stage and make the Blackville region proud! If you would like to perform, drop by and lend your talent!
