Statement from Blackville Mayor & Council Regarding Local COVID-19 Cases / Public Exposure Notice
The mayor and council of the village of Blackville is recommending that residents and visitors to local establishments wear a mask and maintain social distancing during the ongoing increase of COVID-19 cases in our area.
Mayor and council also encourage anyone that has not been vaccinated to please consider doing so this Saturday, August 28 at the Blackville Community Centre, 12 South Bartholomew Road. Public Health will be on site from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. No appointment is required – walk-ins are welcome. Ages 12 years and older. The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be administered. Please note that if you have previously received your first vaccine and it was Moderna, Public Health will have doses of Moderna on hand for your second dose. If you are unable to or feel uncomfortable entering the building, staff have full PPE available and can administer your vaccine from your vehicle.
Miramichi Public Health has notified the village that there are at least 19 active cases in the Blackville and surrounding area (as of Tuesday, August 24).
