Sportsnet to Film Kraft Hockeyville Promo Video at Tom Donovan Arena
A film crew from Sportsnet, Canada’s No. 1 Sports Network, will be at the Tom Donovan Arena in Renous on Thursday, March 7 to film a promotional video for the arena’s bid for Kraft Hockeyville.
Kraft Hockeyville is an annual competition sponsored by Kraft Foods, the National Hockey League and the NHL Players’ Association in which communities compete to demonstrate their commitment to the sport of ice hockey. The top 4 communities will be announced on March 16, 2019.
The film crew will be recording footage for the arena’s continued pursuit of the 2019 Kraft Hockeyville title. Organizers of the local bid are looking for a large crowd to show up on Thursday, March 7 to show their community spirit to the rest of the country.
Schedule for the day: (all events are free)
10:00am – 10:45am: IP and Novice Skills Camp and fun games
10:45am – 11:30am: Atom, Peewee, Bantam skills fun game
12:00pm – 2:00pm: Game – Renous Bantam Renegades vs. Miramichi Bantam Wild
(After second period of the game, around 1:00pm, there will be two simultaneous games: Renous IP in one end, Renous novice in the other.)
2:00pm: Group picture of everyone in their jerseys
There will also be free hot chocolate and popcorn and jumping castles at the Renous Recreation Centre.
The Tom Donovan Arena’s Kraft Hockeyville bid has been made in memory of fourteen year old Thomas Dunn, who passed away in June 2018. Tom’s team the Renous Renegades will be playing at 12:00pm on Thursday.
