Oath of Office Ceremony Held May 1; Ray Croft & Paula Hare Sworn in as new councillors for Miramichi River Valley

The Oath of Office ceremony for two new councillors of the Rural Community of Miramichi River Valley was held on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
Mayor Kevin E. Russell greeted the crowd and welcomed Ray Croft and Paula Hare to the municipal council.
The new councillors fill positions previously held by Dwain Hallihan and Jeffrey Sheasgreen, who vacated their spots earlier this year. A by-election was held in April to elect the new representatives.
Tina Hayes, CAO and clerk of Miramichi River Valley, administered the Oath of Office to Ward 1 Councillor Paula Hare and Councillor-at-Large Ray Croft.
A light reception and social gathering followed the ceremony.
