Local Athletes Bring Home the Gold

Two local athletes brought home the gold last weekend at the 3rd Annual Spring Thaw Female Hockey Tournament held in Truro.

Blackville School student Marty Dunn and Millerton School’s Abbie McAllister and their team, the Miramichi Atom Panthers went undefeated all weekend, winning the golf medal game 9-2 against the Western Riptide East.

Marty is the daughter of Sheri and Neal Dunn of Keenans and Abbie is the daughter of Erica McAllister and Andrew Curtis of Gray Rapids. Both girls are also involved in Blackville Minor Baseball: Marty with the Blackville 49ers and Abbie with the Blackville Blue Jays. Congratulations girls!
