Former Blackville Students Participating in Miramichi Special Olympics Winter Games
The 2019 Special Olympics NB Provincial Winter Games are coming to Miramichi and two former Blackville School students will be participating.
Alex Fiander, son of Paul and Carmel Fiander, will take part in Candlepin Bowling. Alex is very pleasant and loves to talk about every subject going. He loves to swim, bowl and of course ref floor hockey. He doesn’t take any flack off of Coach Ivan King and will gently but firmly put him in his place. Come see him knocking pins down during the Winter Games.
Joseph Underhill, son of Margie Underhill and Michael Furlong will also participate in Candlepin Bowling. Joseph loves music, movies and family time when he is not bowling. Joseph is quite the bowler. He is up and down throwing three balls in record speed with record pins knocked down.
Good luck Alex and Joseph!
The Miramichi Special Olympics NB Winter Games take place from Thursday, February 21 to Sunday, February 24. More than 300 Special Olympics athletes and coaches from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island will participate. Teams will be competing in four sports: Floor Hockey, Curling, Snowshoeing and Candlepin Bowling. For more information and schedule, please visit www.sonbgames.ca.
