Fire Department Hosts Annual Santa Claus Parade
The Blackville Fire Department hosted their annual Santa Claus Parade of Lights on Saturday night. The parade kicked off at 5:00pm from Hooked ‘n Cooked and continued up Main Street to the fire hall where volunteer firemen provided free hot chocolate and hot dogs to parade-goers.
Santa Claus was also on hand giving out treats to community children. Vaunda Manderville was the winner of $1,000 as part of the Blackville Fire Department’s annual fundraiser.
Jakob Jardine of Warwick selected the winners of the floats. Jerry Stafford and his Foodland staff won first prize, while Blackville Home Building Centre and the Gray Rapids Pentecostal Church Youth Group were awarded second and third place respectively.
Along with local groups and businesses, Blackville village council, the Blackville RCMP, Renous-Quarryville Fire Department and Doaktown Fire Department also participated in the parade.
