Employment Opportunity: Miramichi River Valley Seeks Casual Administrative Assistant
The Municipality of the Miramichi River Valley is seeking an administrative professional to join our team.
This is a relief position that is being offered on an on-call, as needed basis to cover vacation days of staff members. This position requires the exercise of initiative, independent judgment, and advanced clerical skills often involving sensitive and confidential information. Work involves frequent interaction with the CAO, municipal council members, the mayor, and the public.
Qualifications:
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for providing administrative support, being the first point of contact, and handling telephone and walk-in customers in a professional, welcoming, and focused manner.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Office Administration Certificate and two years office administration experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Experience with correspondence, record keeping, spreadsheets and word processing.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organization and prioritization abilities, including the ability to multi-task, enter data accurately and efficiently, and ability to work independently.
- Flexible approach to changing work environment.
- Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm.
- Works well in a team environment.
- High level of initiative and independent judgement and ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Must be bondable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point)
- Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
- Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
SALARY:
Salary commensurate with experience.
