ELF Volunteers Needed at Blackville School
Elementary Literacy Inc. offers Elementary Literacy Friends (ELF), a volunteer-based reading program, to Anglophone schools across New Brunswick. ELF is a supplementary reading achievement program that strengthens and builds upon classroom teaching that students experience everyday.
ELF programming pairs trained community volunteers with grade 2 students who require additional time on task to master various literacy skills they require for learning to read well, as identified by their classroom teacher. Students are mentored for one hour, twice per week, for 10 weeks. Volunteers are currently needed at Blackville School.
Learn more and register for training at www.elfnb.com or call 1.855.898.2533. Training will take place on Wednesday, January 25 from 10:00am to 12:30pm at the Anglophone School District North Office in Miramichi.
Volunteers are also needed at Millerton School, Croft Elementary, Gretna Green Elementery, Ian Bailey Primary School, Max Aitken Academy, Nelson Rural School, Miramichi Rural School, St. Andrews Elementary School, Napan Elementary School and North & South Esk Elementary School.
