Construction Underway: Sunny Corner Set to Welcome New Tennis and Pickleball Courts
The community of Sunny Corner will soon have access to one tennis court and two pickleball courts next door to the existing arena.
In an effort to improve recreational services to the community of Sunny Corner, the North and South Esk Recreation Council has started the process of constructing these regulation sized courts. It is expected that these courts will be ready for use in the Spring.
The hope is also to provide lighting to allow use even after dusk. They will be free to the community, and surrounding areas, to use for years to come. Promoting physical activity and community connection has always been the purpose of the Rec Council and they hope these courts will contribute to this mission.
The construction of these courts was made possible through funding from the Gas Tax Fund, following a motion passed by the Miramichi River Valley Mayor and Council earlier this Fall.
