A forum on the state of primary care will be held on Thursday, October 3 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the Carrefour Beausoleil Community Center Theatre in 300 Beaverbrook Road in Miramichi.

The New Brunswick Medical Society has conducted an analysis of primary care resources and access across New Brunswick, and their findings indicate that Miramichi is at risk due to the demographics of both patients and providers. This situation is already affecting the quality of healthcare services available in the community, and without significant and coordinated action by stakeholders, communities, Regional Health Authorities, and the government, it is expected to worsen.

The forum will include a presentation of the primary care data specific to Miramichi, along with best practices that have been effective in other regions. This presentation will be followed by a discussion with local physicians and a Q&A session.
