Community Gathers for Christmas Candlelight Parade
More than fifty people braved the wind and snow for the annual Christmas Candlelight Parade on Monday evening, December 17.
The community event kicked off at the old village office at 6:30pm. The crowd walked up Main Street, while singing Christmas carols, to the creche at Saint Raphael’s Church.
Clergy and representatives from local churches were involved in the ceremony. Father Godwin Kalu and Father Dan Bastarache, Co-Pastor’s of Saint Raphael’s / The Good Shepherd Parish, Rev. John Stewart of Miramichi Fellowship Center, Pastor Coleman Price of Upper Blackville United Pentecostal Church and Nancy Curtis, representative of Saint Andrews United Church were in attendance.
After the blessing of the creche, attendees were invited to the Father AA McKinnon Memorial Hall for hot chocolate and refreshments provided by the Holy Trinity Anglican Church Women.
Outstanding must have been a wonderful time of fellowship, and good carol singing. Merry Christmas to the special people of Blackville.
