Blackville Foodland Unveils Community Window Display

Famous for our river, remembered for our people. This motto now takes center stage in a brand-new window display at Blackville Foodland, celebrating the spirit and beauty of the community.

The collage prominently features an aerial view of the village, showcasing the picturesque Main Southwest Miramichi River as it winds through the heart of Blackville. Also included are landmarks such as the Miramichi River Valley Tourism Information Centre, Blackville Centennial Field and the municipal park, three beloved gathering spots for locals and visitors alike.

But the heart of the display lies in the faces it honors—pillars of the Blackville community. Among them are Lois Grady, Roy MacRae, Amy Jardine, Shirley Underhill and Thomas Dunn, individuals whose contributions have left a lasting mark on the village. Each individual contributes a unique story to Blackville, reflecting dedication, compassion, and a strong sense of community spirit.

The project was conceptualized by store owners Clem & Naomi Savoie, designed by Les McLaughlin and was completed in mid November.

Whether you’re a lifelong resident or a passerby, the message is clear—Blackville is not just a place on the map, but a community woven together by its river and its remarkable people.
