Bi-weekly collection

Household garbage is collected on biweekly in the Rural Community of Miramichi River Valley. Curbside recycling occurs on alternate weeks.

Summer collection

Household garbage is collected weekly in the Blackville village limits during from the first week of June until the last week of September. Curbside recycling remains bi-weekly for Blackville during that time. The remaining communities of Miramichi River Valley have weekly garbage pickup during the summer months of July and August. Curbside recycling for those areas will be held once per month and the dates will be posted.

When and where to put your garbage

• Garbage should be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your collection day.
• Place bags or cans on the ground as close as possible to the roadway, but not on the sidewalk, traveled roadway or on top of snow banks.

How to package your garbage

• Do not use cardboard boxes for garbage. Cardboard boxes are a recyclable item and should be placed in your blue bin.
• Make sure material is packaged or contained securely in a plastic garbage bag or garbage can to avoid loose debris.
