2nd Annual "Remembering Amy" Fundraiser Held at Blackville Park
The second annual musical tribute to Amy Jardine, Remembering Amy, was held this past Saturday, August 24 at the Blackville Municipal Park. Over twenty singers and musicians performed during the three hour event, including Amy’s friends, former band mates and award winning singer/songwriter Jason Barry with his wife Melissa.
The Blackville Firemen’s Club hosted a barbecue and corn boil and donated their proceeds, $500, to the Amy Jardine Memorial Fund. There was a jumping castle and face painting for kids. Two 50/50 draws were held, with both winners donating a portion of their winnings back to the fund.
All proceeds from the day go towards the memorial fund; allowing Amy’s family to award three Blackville School graduates a $500 scholarship each, as well as a $50 donation to each community fundraising benefit.
The event was held at the pavilion – the Amy Jardine Memorial Pavilion – named in his honour by the village of Blackville at last years fundraiser.
Amy’s wife Helen was the master of ceremonies. A group sing-a-long of “Keep on the Sunny Side”, a favourite of Amy’s, closed out the show.

Great job by the organizers and performers. Awesome to see a big crowd out showing their support in honour of a man that gave so much to this community.
Les, Thank-you so much for taking those terrific pictures of the music event. They are just awesome and captured the happy atmosphere of the afternoon.
