Statement Regarding the Blackville Community Garden

To the residents of Miramichi River Valley,

We want to take a moment to reaffirm our support and appreciation for the Blackville Community Garden and all those involved in its development and care. The garden is a valuable asset to our community—a place where neighbors come together, where growth is nurtured, and where shared purpose strengthens our neighborhood.

At the request of the garden’s organizers, we recently worked together to define the garden’s parameters and use within the property. This effort was undertaken in the spirit of cooperation, transparency, and long-term sustainability. However, following that process, we were disappointed to receive backlash that we believe is unwarranted and not reflective of the true nature of our collaboration.

We want to be clear: there was never any plan to remove the community garden from its current location. That idea was never proposed or considered.

We believe strongly that we are all working toward the same goal—building a better, stronger Blackville. While differing opinions and open dialogue are part of a healthy community, we regret that recent public statements have included allegations that are simply untrue.

Our focus remains on serving the entire Miramichi River Valley with honesty and integrity. We continue to work in good faith with the organizers of the community garden to ensure it thrives, and we are confident that, together, we can find solutions that benefit everyone.

We encourage all residents to seek the truth, engage respectfully, and connect directly when questions or concerns arise. Our shared love for this community is what matters most.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our community.
