Special Council Meeting, December 17, 2024
The Special meeting of the Miramichi River Valley met at 18:00 hrs with Mayor Russell residing.
- Auditors Financial Statements
Moved by Councillor M. Vickers, seconded by Councillor Brennan to approve the audited financial statements as presented by Jill Stairs of KPMG for the year 2023. MOTION CARRIED.
(1.2) Auditor
Moved by Councillor Gillespie, seconded by Councillor S. Vickers to hire KPMG to audit the Miramichi River Valley 2024 books. MOTION CARRIED.
- 2025 GENERAL OPERATING FUND BUDGET
Moved by Councillor M. Vickers, seconded by Councillor Gillespie that the 2025 General Operating Fund Budget with Total Budget of $4,173,477. Warrant to be raised is $3,310,964, Gross Revenues of $368,950 be accepted as read. MOTION CARRIED
- 2025 SEWERAGE UTILITY OPERATING FUND BUDGET
Moved by Councillor S. Vickers, seconded by Councillor Gillespie that the 2025 Sewerage Utility Operating Fund Budget with Gross Revenues of $98,095 & user fee of $165 be accepted as read. MOTION CARRIED.
Moved by Councillor M. Vickers to adjourn the meeting at 19:05.

Council meets in regular session on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings begin at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at the Miramichi River Valley Municipal Office, 12 Bartholomew Road South in Blackville and are open to the public.
Members of the public shall not be entitled to address the council during the meetings unless the clerk has been notified at least five business days prior to the council meeting, and the item has been added to the agenda of the meeting.
