Regular Council Meeting, December 8, 2022
The regular meeting of the Blackville Village Council met in the Council Chambers at 19:00hrs December 8, 2022 with Mayor Fortune presiding.
BRING MEETING TO ORDER:
The mayor brought the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to the meeting.
GUESTS:
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
It was moved by Councillor Underhill & seconded by Councillor Brennan to approve agenda as circulated. MOTION CARRIED.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
It was moved by Councillor Underhill, seconded by Councillor A. Brennan to adopt the minutes, as circulated, of the Regular Council meeting November 10, 2022. MOTION CARRIED
BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES

ATTENDANCE
Councillor Cindy Ross and Councillor Denver Brennan were absent.
CORRESPONDENCE
Council has received all correspondence either through email or hard copy in their mail boxes.
BILLS & ACCOUNTS
Moved by Councillor A. Brennan second by Councillor Underhill that the bills in the amount of $15,059.61 be paid. MOTION CARRIED.
COMMITTEE REPORTS: ALL REPORTS ARE ATTACHED
SENIORS: Councillor Ross was absent.
BY-LAWS: Councillor Ross was absent.
FIRE DEPARTMENT: Fire Chief Christopher Sturgeon gave fire report for November 2022. Total manpower available (18), Call responded to within village during month (2), call outside village (5), training session held (3); New Equipment, NIL; Equipment not in use, NIL.
RCMP: Councillor Underhill reported that the RCMP were having a RCMP Stuff a Cruiser on Saturday, December 10.
EMO: Councillor Ross was absent.
DOG CONTROL: Councillor D. Brennan was absent.
STREET LIGHTING: Councillor Ross was absent.
LEISURE SERVICES: Councillor A. Brennan reported that she will be forming a committee for Blackville Days events. Planning on a dance, breakfast, etc.
RECREATION: Councillor D. Brennan was absent.
AMBULANCE NB: Councillor D. Brennan was absent.
TOURISM Councillor Underhill has nothing to report.
JULY 1: Councillor Underhill had nothing to report.
BEAUTIFICATION: Councillor A. Brennan reported that the wreaths are up around the village and look great.
PARK: Mayor Fortune reported that the park has been decorated for Christmas and plenty of people are using the walking trails.
UNSIGHTLY PREMISES: Councillor Underhill reported that an issue with a building located on Main Street is buckling and needs to be deemed unfit.
FINANCE: Mayor Fortune reported that clerk has submitted the budget for 2023.
BUILDINGS: Councillor A. Brennan reported that the fire station had a light fixture on the front of the building come loose. It has been repaired by one of the volunteer fire fighters.
SEWER: Councillor A. Brennan reported that Dana assisted a house on Main Street with a blockage in their pipe.
STREET & PUBLIC WORKS Mayor Fortune reported that the Barnettville Road has been repaired.
Publicity and Promotion: Mayor Fortune reported that J.D. Irving donated the pine to finish the inside and outside of the tourism building.
Regional Service Commission: Mayor Fortune had nothing to report.

Moved by Councillor A. Brennan, seconded by Councillor Underhill to approve Bylaw #97. MOTION CARRIED
Moved by Councillor Underhill to adjourn the meeting at 19:15 hours.
Council meets in regular session on the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings begin at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers at the Miramichi River Valley Municipal Office, 12 Bartholomew Road South in Blackville and are open to the public.
