Statement Re: Blackville's 50th Anniversary Coverage
Below is a statement from village of Blackville councillor Cindy Underhill regarding media coverage of our recent 50th Anniversary celebrations:
I was very happy with the Miramichi Leader covering our 50th Anniversary celebrations, but I would like to clear something up in the article on page B6 of Wednesday, September 7th’s paper.
With regards to the barbecue – the Grads of 2017 did prepare the barbecue for us, and I, in no way want to diminish their participation, we really and truly appreciated everything they did for us on Saturday, but I would also like to give thanks where thanks is due.
I mentioned this in my ‘Thank you’ speech on Saturday, but I would also like to mention it here, so that anybody that wasn’t there understands – our barbecue was sponsored by Blackville Foodland/Jerry Stafford.
I would not want Jerry to not get the appreciation he also deserves. So a big shout out to Blackville Foodland AND the Grads of 2017
