Blackville Celebrates Canada Day

Two days of events kicked off the Canada Day long weekend in Blackville on Sunday, June 30 and Monday, July 1. Sunday morning, Saint Raphael’s hosted a breakfast from 7am until 11am, followed by a Strawberry Social hosted by the Catholic Women’s League.
On Sunday evening, Neon Smoke rocked the municipal park from 8pm until dusk and the fireworks display. Everyone agreed that this year’s fireworks were the best yet!
On Monday, the annual parade kicked off at 3pm, followed by more celebrations at the park. Winners in the float category were: Plant Positivity with first, Renous Renegades with second and Kraft Hockeyville in Memory of Thomas Dunn with third. Winners in the bike category were Avery Donohue, Ashton Jardine and Nate Underhill.
Debbie and Eric entertained the crowd. Mayor and council, along with MLA Jake Stewart and MP Pat Finnigan officially opened the park’s new Splash Pad. The Blackville Firemen’s Club provided bbq on both days.
